Time

“Time passed. But time flows in many streams. Like a river, an inner stream of time will flow rapidly at some places and sluggish at others, or perhaps even stand hopelessly stagnant. Cosmic time is the same for everyone, but human time differs with each person. Time flows in the same way for all human beings; every human being flows through time Ina different way.” – Yasunari Kawabata, Beauty & Sadness

Cosmic time relates to the literal, exact time that everyone lives in. It changes no matter who is in it, where you are or what is happening to you. It doesn’t speed up, slow down, rewind or fast forward. Human time is what you choose to do with your time. If you choose to play a sport, act, travel or whatever, that is how you spend your time. For those who are in school, typically, we want shoo. To go by fast. What we forget about is how amazing it is to skill be kids. We don’t have such big responsibilities, we have someone paying for our things, we get to do stupid things because it is our time to figure out who we are. Sure, we may get in trouble, but in life everyone makes mistakes. Your life will soon become boring if you choose to spend your human time making the obvious choices. Ya, making the obvious choices is easiest in life, but you learn the most by making an unusual choice. It may take you on a path in life that you would have never traveled down if you had never made that unusual decision.

This quote also reminds me of the song, It’s Time by Imagine Dragons.
